Learned Effective Strategies and Lessons

Thank you for the kind words and the tremendous effort you put into helping Patrick become a more successful reader and person. From the beginning Patrick enjoyed coming to your sessions and found great value in them. He never complained about going, in fact he welcomed and looked forward to those Friday afternoons. The improvement he made in his classes were a direct result of your work.

We have said this numerous times but it bears repeating again, you have been a god-send for us and Patrick. Your kind and caring manor put him at ease where others could not and your gentle yet effective teaching style endeared him to you so that he could learn and grow. And boy did he! We can't thank you enough for all you have done for him and us.  He is in a position to be successful in HS and in life and has learned effective strategies and lessons from you that he will carry with him in life.

Patrick is in position to be successful as a student and learner and a lot of the credit goes to you and your teachings. It isn't often people make a positive and lasting impression on you but that is what you have done. Thank you a million times. If there is anything we can ever do for you please do not hesitate to call upon us or Patrick.

Thank you and Bless you!

Individuals with dyslexia can be taught to read if they are given explicit, comprehensive and intensive instruction. Effective instruction promotes reading success and alleviates difficulties associated with dyslexia. Programs must be explicit and components of reading, spelling, and writing are explained, directly taught, and modeled by the teacher. Individuals are discouraged from guessing words.

The progression is systematic and cumulative where there is a definite, logical sequence of concept introduction and each new concept builds upon previously introduced concepts. Lessons are structured and step-by-step procedures are used for introducing, reviewing and practicing concepts.
